Let me start by saying this... my birth photographer
is a goddess! Seriously, this woman knows her stuff.

She offered to give me a mini maternity session so we could put some pictures with my baby registry that she was setting up for us.
Let's be real... birth photography is expensive.
And it should be. Imagine being on-call for two weeks before & after someone's expected due date. Plus the hours during labor and postpartum time. It's exhausting just thinking about it.
When I talked to her about the shoot in advance
I asked... "what should I wear?! I have no idea what I'm doing".
Her response... "just wear something comfy & sexy".
Ha, well... I can't fit into 90% of my clothes, and the few moo moo jammies that I CAN fit into are definitely not sexy. In fact, it's challenging to feel sexy at any point during pregnancy when your own body feels so foreign to you.
[Pregnancy is a total mind fuck]
When your body is changing daily, it can be tough for your mind to keep up with what you see in the mirror. I was pretty nervous and self conscious initially, going into this shoot. Then I remembered...
This photoshoot is to celebrate my body that is currently creating life (like whoa), and it's also to help me recognize that I can be & feel sexy, even when I'm pregnant. So for me these pictures show off my cute baby bump, but also shows a future mom who is embracing her new curves, and acknowledging the true strength required to love your body at all stages of life.
