Let's face it, we all hit road blocks during our fitness journeys. The key to overcoming these obstacles is to maintain mental focus and self belief. IT IS NOT EASY. In fact, it's really hard sometimes. On my own fitness journey, I have had the highest of highs (like placing top 5 in my fitness competition last fall) to the lowest of lows (injuring my back and not being able to lift anything for 3 months). I'd be lying if I said I've never gotten down on myself, been disappointed for missing a workout, or eating food I know wasn't good for me.
Your journey doesn't have to be perfect. You can stumble and fall, just as long as you keep getting back up. Each choice you make, should be a conscious effort to be better than you were yesterday. It might not always pan out the way you want it to, but just continue to believe in yourself.
Don't base your success on other people's opinions of you, or whether or not you do everything perfectly. Instead, learn to love yourself with all your faults and imperfections, and understand that no matter what happens along your journey, you are bigger than all of that.
You are bigger than the weight you have lost or gained this year. You are bigger than the donut or salad your ate yesterday. You are bigger than that weight you could or couldn't lift today. There is something inside of you that is greater than all of that.
